About Buchanan
Buchanan Hauling & Rigging: 30 Years Built on Trucking
Buchanan Hauling & Rigging, Inc. was founded in Fort Wayne, Indiana, in June 1996 with one truck, two trailers, and a belief that hard work and honest relationships still matter. Founder Geary Buchanan had already spent more than 24 years in the trucking industry as an owner-operator when he decided to build a trucking company of his own.
What started as a small family-owned operation has grown to more than 200 power units and more than 900 trailers. Through that growth, Buchanan has remained connected to its trucking roots and to the professional drivers who have helped build the company mile by mile.
Built by a Truck Driver
Buchanan was not started in a boardroom. It was built from firsthand experience behind the wheel. Geary understood the demands of the road, the importance of dependable equipment, and the value of having people you can count on when a problem needs to be solved.
That experience continues to influence Buchanan today. From dry van and flatbed freight to specialized equipment and heavy haul transportation, professional drivers remain an important part of the company's story and its future.

In 2026, Buchanan Hauling & Rigging celebrates 30 years in business. Over those three decades, the company has grown far beyond the single truck and two trailers that started it all while continuing to operate with the work ethic and relationships that helped build the business.
